Mdewakanton Public Safety (MPS) will be conducting a live-burn training exercise (weather permitting) within the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) on Saturday, September 26.

The training will take place at:

3847 Eagle Creek Circle

Prior Lake, MN 55372

MPS is providing this notice in advance, so residents are aware of increased fire department activity in the area on this date. Nearby residents will be contacted directly for additional notice.

This training is an important opportunity for firefighters to practice critical techniques and enhance the skills needed to protect the SMSC and surrounding areas.

This training exercise will be completed by trained professionals, and all necessary precautions will be taken to minimize any impact to the surrounding area. MPS kindly asks that nearby residents take precautions to protect any items that may be outdoors—such as vehicles or laundry—as they could be exposed to smoke or airborne particles. Please also keep windows closed if you notice smoke in the area.
