Free Yard Waste Drop-Off at SMSC Organics Recycling Facility
Prior Lake, Minn. – Scott County residents can drop off yard waste for free every Sunday from April 2-May 28 at the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community’s Organics Recycling Facility (ORF).
The ORF is located at 1905 Mystic Lake Drive South in Shakopee. Yard waste must be dropped off between 8 a.m.-2 p.m. To show proof of Scott County residency, residents must bring their driver’s license or state ID card.
In 2016 during the months of April, May, September and October, more than 4,700 Scott County residents dropped off yard waste at the ORF for free. The ORF recycles this waste and turns it into nutrient-rich soil amendments suitable for organic farming, gardening and landscaping.
