The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, through its IndigeFit Kids campaign, is hosting a Coaching Academy presented by the Notah Begay III (NB3) Foundation on September 15-16, 2025. This free, two-day workshop is for current and prospective coaches of Native American youth athletics in Minnesota.

This event will be held at Mystic Lake Center in Prior Lake, Minnesota. Attendance is free of charge and meals (breakfast and lunch) will be provided. About the Coaching Academy

The NB3 Foundation supports the health and well-being of Native youth through culturally relevant and evidence-based programs with wide experience in providing coaching clinics in Indian Country. This hands-on workshop will empower participants to enhance their leadership skills and effectively implement holistic youth wellness programs.

This workshop will enable participants to:

*Develop and implement curricula that effectively integrate NB3 Foundation’s four core areas: physical activity, healthy nutrition, youth development, and cultural connections.

*Foster a strong sense of team and positive group dynamics among program participants.

*Develop effective strategies for strengthening participant engagement and motivation.

*Gain practical knowledge and skills in positive youth development principles, culturally responsive programming, and age-appropriate activities.

*Acquire easily implementable activities, games, and strategies that can be readily integrated into their youth wellness programs.
