Driving the Local Economy
The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community owns and operates a diverse collection of enterprises on its lands in Prior Lake and Shakopee, Minnesota. From a tribal garden to two major casinos, hotels, and family entertainment centers, our enterprises help drive the local economy.
As the largest employer in Scott County, our payroll is nearly $177 million annually. Nearly two-thirds of our employees reside in Scott and Dakota counties. Additionally, we work with 2,000 vendors within a 25-mile radius, and pay $300 million to vendors annually.
