Ordinance FAQ

To hunt on SMSC lands, a person must hold a license issued by the SMSC Conservation Enforcement, as well as the appropriate state licensing. Eligible applicants must be a member of the SMSC or in the immediate family of a member. Anyone under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or adult family member. The SMSC’s game and fish code also allows for a one-day, non-member guest permit that requires the hunting guest to be accompanied by an SMSC member.

Hunting licenses are available at the Conservation Enforcement Department, located at the Dakota Development Complex (DDC) at 2680 154th Street NW, Prior Lake, MN 55372. The office hours are 6am to 11:30pm on Monday-Friday and noon-11:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Please call the duty phone at 763.710.0000 for any questions.
