The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) owns and operates a diverse collection of enterprises on its lands in Prior Lake and Shakopee, Minnesota. From an award-winning golf course to two major casinos, our enterprises help drive the local economy.
We are the largest employer in Scott County. The majority of our employees reside in Scott and Dakota counties. Additionally, we work with thousands of vendors within a 25-mile radius, and pay several million dollars to vendors annually. The SMSC’s enterprises have contributed billions of dollars to the local economy since 1990.

Dakota Prairie Composting (SMSC ORF)
The tribe has been a leader in composting operations since 2011, providing education and advice on the benefits and best practices of sustainable waste recycling processes. The SMSC Organics Recycling Facility reflects the Dakota tradition of caring for the earth by recycling organic waste into high-quality compost, soil amendments, and natural hardwood mulch for retail and wholesale purchase. The new facility, Dakota Prairie Composting, will have three times the capacity of the SMSC Organics Recycling Facility, making it the largest commercial organics recycling facility in the Midwest.
Dakotah Meadows RV Park
Dakotah Meadows RV Park offers paved, pull-through, and back-in RV sites in a serene setting just steps away from Mystic Lake Casino Hotel. Enjoy a worry-free stay with electric, water, and sewer connections and convenient amenities, including an RV wash, self-serve fuel station, and on-site shuttle service.
Dakotah Meadows Storage
Providing safe, secure storage at competitive rates across two locations. Dakotah Meadows Storage offers a variety of indoor (heated and non-heated) and open-air options for household goods, watercraft, cars, trucks, and recreational vehicles.
Dakotah! Sport and Fitness
Dakotah! Sport and Fitness is a full-service health and fitness club, featuring an aquatic center, gymnasium, walking track, ice center, cardio and strength training rooms, arcade and bowling alley, smoothie bar, and fitness and personal training classes.
Hoċokata Ṫi
Learn about Dakota history and lifeways at Mdewakanton: Dwellers of the Spirit Lake public exhibit. While you’re there, visit the gift shop for a variety of items from Native artists and Native-owned businesses, including hand-crafted jewelry, books, art, home goods, and more.
LaunchPad Golf The Meadows
The SMSC partnered with LaunchPad Golf to open the company’s first location in the United States in the fall of 2025. With 40 golf suites, two bars, and a full-service restaurant in the state-of-the-art facility, LaunchPad Golf The Meadows blends a lively atmosphere and delectable food and beverage options to create memorable outings for groups of all ages and abilities.
Little Six Casino
At the SMSC’s original gaming location, guests can enjoy a more intimate gaming experience with great food and drinks, conveniently located adjacent to Mystic Lake Casino Hotel.
Mystic Lake Casino Hotel

Native Harvest Catering
Dishing up authentic local flavors for gatherings, lunch meetings, parties, and corporate events. Native Harvest Catering specializes in buffet-style catering and offers a variety of menu choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
SMSC Water Bottling
SMSC Water Bottling provides high-quality, locally sourced water to its customers for their own use, as well as for retail and wholesale distribution since 2008. The enterprise provides water to area casinos, businesses, sports organizations, weddings, special events, and more. SMSC Water Bottling also offers custom labels for a unique addition to any organization or special event.
Shakopee Dakota Convenience Store
Since 2004, the Shakopee Dakota Convenience Stores have provided customers better savings and better customer service. With two convenient locations in Prior Lake, the Shakopee Dakota Convenience Stores offer quality fuel, a free rewards program, and a premium in-store shopping experience.
The Meadows at Mystic Lake
The Meadows at Mystic Lake is the SMSC’s 18-hole public golf course, combining modern amenities with the course’s natural beauty. The award-winning course offers five sets of tees with yardage ranging from 5,293-7,207, bent grass greens, tees, and fairways, 13 holes with water in play, 80 bunkers, and picturesque on-course statues. The course also offers impressive practice facilities, a variety of lesson offerings for all ages and abilities, TrackMan swing analysis, a full-service and year-round clubhouse and golf shop, and The Meadows Bar and Grille.
