On the Senate floor before Secretary Deb Haaland was confirmed lead the U.S. Dept. of Interior, U.S. Sen. Tina Smith, D-Minn., celebrated Haaland’s history-making nomination. Haaland is the first Native American to serve in the presidential cabinet.
