Prior Lake, Minn. – On Saturday, November 23, Dakotah! Sport and Fitness will sponsor its annual Turkey Trot 5K. The 3.1-mile event will start at Dakotah! and wind through The Meadows at Mystic Lake, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community’s award-winning golf course.

“Hosting the event on the golf course provides a paved path and small hills, which make for a challenging race venue,” said Dakotah! Sport and Fitness Assistant Director and Race Director Renee Engeman.

Registration is $25 through November 13 or until the race fills and can be done online at www.active.com, by downloading the brochure at www.dakotahsport.com, or by picking up a brochure at Dakotah!. Mail-in registration forms will not be accepted after November 9.

5K followed by kids’ fun run

The 5K starts at 8 a.m., with an awards ceremony to follow. Awards will be given to the first, second, and third place overall male and female finishers and age group winners. All registered runners will receive a t-shirt.

A kids’ fun run will be held at 8:45 a.m.; the registration fee for the fun run is $10, though no pre-registration is needed.
