Public Welcome to Mdewakanton Public Safety Open House October 7
Prior Lake, Minn. – Mdewakanton Public Safety, the fire and ambulance department of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC), is hosting an open house Wednesday, October 7, from 5-8 p.m. at 2525 Flandreau Trail NW in Prior Lake.
All are welcome to tour the fire station, ride a fire truck, and check out equipment demonstrations. Food will be provided, thanks in part to a chicken wing cook-off among Mdewakanton Public Safety staff members and other teams.
To help share safety tips during Fire Prevention Week (October 4-10), Mdewakanton Public Safety has invited several of its mutual aid partners to join in the October 7 festivities. They include the Prior Lake, Savage, and Shakopee fire departments; the Prior Lake and Shakopee police departments; and Allina Health Emergency Medical Services. The Mdewakanton Conservation and Enforcement Agency will also share information.
Mdewakanton Public Safety is a full-time, professional fire and ambulance department staffed 24-7 – one of only 17 entirely full-time departments in Minnesota. Mdewakanton Public Safety serves the SMSC, guests and patrons of the SMSC, and nearby communities by request through mutual aid agreements.
For more information about the open house, contact Mdewakanton Public Safety at 952-233-1077.
